Keyboard shortcuts and search
Open the command palette with Cmd/Ctrl+K, see every shortcut with ?, and start something new with N.
A few keys get you around the studio quickly.
Search everything
Press Cmd+K on a Mac or Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux to open the command palette, or choose the search button at the top of the sidebar. Start typing to search your animations, decks, graphics, logos, ideas, projects and chats, then press Enter to open the one you want. With nothing typed, it shows your most recent work.
The palette also gets things done without the mouse:
- Start a new animation, deck, graphics or logo.
- Go to any place, any Settings tab or Developers tab.
- Open Help, show the keyboard shortcuts, or collapse and expand the sidebar.
The shortcuts
- Cmd/Ctrl+K: search and commands.
- ?: show the list of keyboard shortcuts.
- N: open the + New menu to start something new.
- Cmd/Ctrl+Z: undo your last change in an editor.
- Shift+Cmd/Ctrl+Z (or Ctrl+Y on Windows and Linux): redo it.
- Esc: close a dialog.
Single-key shortcuts such as N and ? only work when you are not typing in a box, so they never get in the way of your writing. For more on undo, see Trash, restore and undo.
When presenting
When you present a deck, the arrow keys move between slides and builds. See Decks. When you present an animation, Space pauses or plays, the arrow keys move between its parts and Esc leaves. See Presenting an animation.
In the Chrome extension
Programmable Capture has its own shortcuts: Alt+Shift+S captures the screen and Alt+Shift+A selects an area. See Programmable Capture for Chrome.
