Product demos from your screenshots
Programmable turns up to eight screenshots of your product into a 15, 30 or 60 second animated demo, built on your real screens. You can review a storyboard first, then download an MP4 or GIF, embed it on your site, or share a click-through version.
Who this is for
This suits a founder or marketer who needs a polished demo for a homepage, a launch or a feature announcement, and doesn't want to learn After Effects or brief a freelancer. It works well when your interface is the story and a short film is enough.
If you only want to see the idea working, the screenshots to video tool makes a quick tour from up to three screenshots. It needs no sign-up and runs in your browser, so your images stay on your device. The steps below are for the full studio.
What you start from
| Starting point | Limit | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Screenshots | Up to 8, PNG, JPEG or WebP, under 8 MB each | Upload, drop or paste into the chat |
| Figma | Up to 8 frames | Needs a Figma personal access token the first time |
| Screen recording | MP4, WebM or MOV, up to 200 MB | Key screens are pulled out; the footage itself isn't used |
| Capture extension | Up to 8 captures, or up to 90 s of tab recording | Records a click-through as ordered steps |
| Nothing | None | The product is rebuilt as illustrative UI, so it won't be your exact interface |
Put screens in the order a user would see them. Use sample data, or cover customer names, emails and figures before you send a screen, because the film is built from what's in the picture.
What happens, step by step
- On Home, choose + › An animation about › Product demo and add your screens.
- Answer the short questions: where it will go, how long it should be (15, 30 or 60 seconds), and how it should look. Use your judgment for everything lets the studio decide.
- Choose Plan the storyboard to see each scene and what it says before anything is built, or Skip review · generate now.
- A Draft takes about five minutes. Watch it to check the idea works.
- If it does, press Direct this film. A director scores each cut and improves it in rounds. This usually takes 15 to 30 minutes, and you can leave while it runs.
- Change anything by chat, such as "slower on the second screen", or edit the words directly under Content without regenerating.
- Open Export or Share when you're happy. Every change is a new version, and you can restore any earlier one.
What you get
| Output | Details |
|---|---|
| MP4 | H.264 at 24 fps, the full length |
| MP4 with voiceover | AI narration from your scene captions, optional music, captions burned in or attached |
| GIF | 8 fps, up to 12 seconds |
| Interactive demo | Visitors click a highlighted spot to move through your screens. Linear, one hotspot per step, by share link or one HTML file |
| Embed | One-line script or iframe, with guides for Webflow, Framer, WordPress, Shopify and Squarespace |
| Code | Standalone HTML, a React or Next.js component, or React source |
Choose the platform when you start if resolution matters. A film made for YouTube or X exports at 1920 × 1080. Without a chosen platform the MP4 stays at the smaller design size. There's no 4K.
What it costs
| Plan | Price a month | Credits | About |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trial | No card | 120, once | 1 film |
| Starter | $29 | 350 a month | 5 films |
| Pro | $79 | 1,000 a month | 15 films |
| Studio | $199 | 2,500 a month | 39 films |
A typical directed film uses about 63 credits, or $6.30. A draft usually uses under 15. You pay for the AI that actually ran, and credits never expire while your account is open. A top-up is 100 credits for $12. Plans with your own AI key count animations instead: 20, 100 or 400 a month. See plans and prices for the current figures. On the trial, shared animations carry a small badge.
When another route is better
- You want real footage. This builds an animated film from your screens. It doesn't keep your recording, so a screen recorder such as Screen Studio (macOS only) is the better choice.
- You need branching or a sandbox. Our click-through is linear. Storylane sells HTML demos and sandboxes, and Arcade has branching.
- You need more than 60 seconds or 4K. Arcade's Pro plan lists 5-minute video and 4K.
- You send a personalised demo to each prospect. There are no per-prospect tokens here.

A brief you can paste
This uses a made-up product, so swap in your own details. Add your screens to the chat first.
"Product demo for Acme Invoices, an invoicing app for freelancers. 30 seconds for our homepage. The story: a freelancer finishes a job, turns their tracked hours into an invoice in one click, and sees it marked paid. Use my screens in this order: timesheet, invoice preview, paid dashboard. Zoom in on the Create invoice button on the first screen and the paid badge on the last. End on the line: Get paid without the admin."
Ask for the storyboard first. If a scene shows the wrong thing, fixing it there costs far less than fixing it after the film is built.
Common questions
Can I keep a demo private until it's approved?
Nothing is public until you create a share link, and a link can be revoked at any time. In a team workspace with approvals on, links and embeds show only an approved version. See approvals before publishing.
Will the demo show my exact interface?
When you supply screens, the film is built from them, with your product filling the frame. Without screens, the interface is redrawn as illustrative UI, so don't use that version where a viewer would expect the real product.
Do I need to write a script?
No. The studio works out the story from your screens and brief. If you want control, say what each scene should show, or start from our 15, 30 and 60 second scripts.
Can my site's visitors click through it?
Yes. A product demo can be shared as an interactive demo from the Share panel or exported as one HTML file. Each step has one spot to click, and the steps run in a fixed order.
