Editing an animation

Change an animation by chat, or edit its story, text, look and timing directly, and restore any earlier version.

Open any animation from Library › Animations to edit it. The preview plays on the right, and the editing panel is on the left.

The editor tabs

  • Chat: say what to change in your own words, such as "faster, more playful, new colours, a different ending". You can also rework the story plan from here.
  • Story: the scenes and what each one says.
  • Content: the words on screen, edited directly without regenerating.
  • Look: colours, style and direction for the next generation.
  • Timing: how long each beat lasts.
  • Data: numbers and live data the animation shows.
  • Analytics: how this animation performs once it is shared or embedded.
  • Advanced: settings and the animation's code.
  • Comments: notes and feedback pinned to a moment in the film. See Comments.

Save, improve or regenerate

Edits to text and settings are saved without rebuilding the animation. Improve quality runs another round of review on the current version. Regenerate rebuilds it from the brief, with your style and direction.

Undo and redo

Press Cmd/Ctrl+Z to undo an edit and Shift+Cmd/Ctrl+Z to redo it, or use the small undo and redo buttons. See Trash, restore and undo.

Versions

Every change makes a new version. You can restore any earlier version from the version list, and nothing is lost by restoring.

Present it

Present, beside the preview's restart button, plays the animation full screen. See Presenting an animation.

Next steps from the editor

If the preview shows an error

Ask for a fix in the chat, or edit the code under Advanced.
